Terms of Service
Last Updated: May 11, 2026Welcome to LanaPDF. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and LanaPDF regarding your use of the LanaPDF website and services. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Service
LanaPDF provides a web-based PDF editing and annotation tool. Our service is designed with a "Local-First" architecture, meaning:
- We do not upload your PDF files to our servers for processing.
- File processing happens locally within your web browser.
- We serve the application code, but the manipulation of your documents happens on your device.
3. User Accounts & Subscriptions
Registration: You may need to create an account to access certain features. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
Subscriptions: Some features of LanaPDF are available only with a paid subscription. We use Stripe™ for payment processing.
Billing: By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the recurring subscription fee. You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings.
4. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any equipment and ancillary services needed to connect to, access or use the Service. You are solely responsible for the content of the PDF files you edit using our Service.
You are solely responsible for the content, accuracy, legality, authenticity, authorization, and use of every PDF file, signature image, typed name, drawing, mark, stamp, edit, export, download, printed copy, or shared copy that you create, modify, place, save, or distribute using LanaPDF.
5. Signature Image Tool; No Verified Digital Signature
LanaPDF's signature features are document editing and annotation tools only. They allow you to create, store, upload, type, draw, resize, position, and place a visual image representation of a signature, typed name, drawing, mark, stamp, or other image onto a PDF.
LanaPDF does not provide cryptographic, certificate-based, public key infrastructure (PKI), qualified, advanced, notarized, witnessed, identity-verified, e-verified, or tamper-evident digital signatures. A signature, name, mark, or image placed with LanaPDF is an image annotation only unless you separately use another service or process that provides legally required verification.
6. No Legal, Compliance, Identity, or Authenticity Verification
LanaPDF does not verify signer identity, authority, intent, consent, legal capacity, document validity, document authenticity, chain of custody, legal enforceability, or compliance with any law, regulation, court rule, agency rule, contract requirement, recipient requirement, or industry standard.
LanaPDF is not a law firm, notary, e-signature provider, certificate authority, identity verification provider, witness, escrow agent, or compliance service. You are responsible for determining whether a PDF, edit, signature image, or signing workflow is appropriate and legally valid for your intended use.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may not use LanaPDF to forge signatures, impersonate another person, misrepresent another person's approval or consent, alter a document without authorization, create or distribute fraudulent records, remove or obscure material information in a misleading way, violate another person's rights, or violate any applicable law, regulation, court order, contract, or policy.
You must only place a signature, typed name, image, mark, or approval indicator when you have all necessary rights, authority, permissions, and consent to do so.
8. Intellectual Property
The LanaPDF service, including its software, design, and content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of our service.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
LanaPDF is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, legally sufficient for your use, accepted by any recipient, or capable of detecting fraud, forgery, unauthorized edits, invalid signatures, or invalid documents.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LanaPDF shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, business, opportunities, or legal rights, whether incurred directly or indirectly.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LanaPDF shall not be liable for claims, losses, damages, penalties, investigations, disputes, enforcement actions, or expenses arising from or related to forged documents, unauthorized signatures, fraudulent documents, altered documents, invalid signatures, unenforceable documents, rejected documents, misuse of signature images, impersonation, misrepresentation, or your failure to obtain required consent, authority, verification, legal review, or compliance approval.
11. Release and Indemnification
You agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LanaPDF and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, fees, penalties, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to your PDFs, edits, signature images, typed names, marks, exports, downloads, printed copies, shared copies, unauthorized use, fraud, forgery, impersonation, misrepresentation, violation of law, violation of these Terms, or failure to obtain necessary consent, authority, legal review, or compliance approval.
